A Disciple's Prayer Book
This prayer book and resource was first published in 2002 by The Rev'd John E. Robertson who was the Episcopal Church's missioner for Indigenous Ministries at that time. Many Indigenous circles had been using this Gospel-based discipleship practice for some time. It is a practice that allows all in the group to engage with scripture and worship and does not require an ordained person to lead. This practice illuminates for participants the relevance of God's words today in the context the gathered community of faith.
As the practice has expanded over the years many non-indigenous people have been included in these sacred circles. The Episcopal Church is grateful for this tremendous gift from native Episcopalians. The Disciple's Prayer Book can be downloaded for free and is a great worship resourceto use and engage with youth and adults.
