A Note Regarding Safeguarding Training

Over the last 10 years our diocese, along with most others in The Episcopal Church, have used Praesidium’s Armatus Learn to Protect System to provide Sexual Ethics and Safeguarding God’s Children training. The name of this program is changing from Armatus Learn to Protect System to Praesidium Academy.

Praesidium Academy launched its new system on July 14, 2021. Administrators and anyone who has taken modules in the system with an active email may receive an email directly from Praesidium Academy requesting updated information. Please DO NOT ACT on this email from Praesidium at this time.

Although we are excited about the Praesidium Academy, there will be information sent to parishes in early August regarding new Model Policies for the Protection of Children and for Vulnerable Adults. Clear instructions will be sent to parishes on how to implement these new model policies. Included will be information regarding Praesidium Academy and Background Checks. There will also be orientations offered to support parishes during this transition.
