Step Six of L.A.T.I.N.O. (Level 4)
Step Six: Inclusion.
This step assumes a standing presence of Latinos in the church in the form of worship services or other church accountable ministries. This step requires a conscientious effort to ensure that all public communications are bilingual and that all church events, including annual meetings, are made equitably accessible to all people regardless of their native language. Step six also requires that a diverse group of people is encouraged to stand for positions of responsibility, such as vestry and other officers of the parish. It also requires the encouragement of full participation in all elections along with the translation of biographies and interpretation of any speeches.
Working towards inclusion is a sensitive process that involves deliberate work. Do not ignore difficulties; address them. And, if you need support from a third party along the way, we're always available. Contact the Rev. Fred Clarkson for support.
